Anger is an emotion that has evolved as a natural and healthy response to deal with factors encountered in situations that are typically frustrating, annoying, infuriating, irritating, threatening, unpleasant, or embarrassing.

An angered person’s emotion are often reflected in physiological responses such as increased heart rate and pupil dilation, facial expressions and body language that sometimes exhibit overt acts of aggression.

Uncontrolled anger can be damaging to both parties. Harsh words and actions which often regrettably cannot be undone are exchanged in the heat of anger. Often associated with the cause of the anger is, poor judgment and a lack of concentration on the task at hand which may lead to poor performance and deterioration.

Anger must be handled and released in the right way.

When things don't go the way a person wants, or may not understand to resolve a problem in reaching a goal, it might turn to becoming frustrated that can lead to anger.

One of my friends is always in the habit of losing his temper and flying off his handle at the drop of a hat. This often happens when something does not go the way of his expectations or if somebody does not act or perform according to his plan.

He came to me one day, asking me for a solution to this ever growing problem.

I told him, “my dear friend, whenever you get angry you please hammer a nail on a wooden board. If the next time, you could control your anger in a similar situation, pull out the nail from the board. You should try your best not to add more nails to the board. If you get too many nails, you should try to get them all out as soon as possible.”

This strategy worked out well for my friend. He came to me after a few weeks and thanked me for the tip and said, “I was ashamed when I saw too many nails on my board within a week and swore to get them all out. I had to work hard in controlling my anger. But when I finally learned how, it was rewarding to feel I could take a hold and control my anger. I have finally triumphed by being able to slowly get all the nails out of the board.”

I was happy that my method worked out very well for him. He showed me the board with no nails on it, but it had so many nail impressions.

Just so the angry words we use on others will remain ingrained in their hearts forever. Therefore let us not hurt any one with our angry words.

Welcome Sorrow With A Smile

All human beings want to be happy. Whatever they do, their aim is to seek happiness. Happiness is often related to money and relationships. It is true that if we have sufficient money and good relations, life will be happy.

However, sometimes even if we have abundant wealth we lack happiness. Happiness largely depends on our mind. In other words we can live happily even when we don’t have money and good relationships.

This is possible if we have absolute control over our minds.

Life is full of uncertainty. We are happy when we become wealthy, famous and make a name in society. What happens when we have financial problems, health problems, problems with our relationships or if we experience defamation; we are confused, stumble and get struck with panic and sorrows.

When we reach a peak, we should learn to enjoy it to the fullest. At the same time should learn to manage a valley as well. A peak will not last for ever. Therefore enjoy it fully. Similarly a valley is not going to last for ever. How can we manage a valley? We must understand that every valley teaches us a lesson. In analyzing what caused the depression and taking appropriate steps to climb out of those depths should teach us how to avoid getting into those turbulent situations. So we learn to enjoy the challenges of the valley. We can try our best with our positive efforts to make the valley as shallow as possible.

Of course peak is an excitement but we cannot hope to continuously exist in it.

It is true that for some people the peaks are longer and for others the valleys are.

Let us learn to enjoy the peaks with happiness and manage the valleys with courage. So welcome the sorrow with a smile. We need that too to keep our life interesting.

THE COST OF LIVING IN A FAST WORLD

We are living in a modern world where life has become too mechanical. Children can not enjoy their childhood as we constantly engage them in too many activities, believing that we are shaping a good life for them. We have modern gadgets which have simplified our work to a great extent, yet, they have increased the distance among people.

We talk to our spouse in the next room on the mobile phone as we are unable to talk openly in person. Mode of communication has advanced to a great extent, yet we find it difficult to communicate with our dear and near ones.

We are living in a fast world. We chase after money to get status in life. At one stage we can’t stop the chasing.

Once there was a very famous writer who was engaged in writing a great book. He was too busy with his work that he never knew what was happening in the world. One day his candle was put off by the wind. Then he saw an old woman lighting the candle for him. He asked her, “hey, old lady, who are you?” She said, I’m your wife and we are married fifty years. I have been looking after your needs so long”. He was shocked and ashamed of himself for neglecting his wife so long. He named his great book after her to compensate for the mistakes.

We miss a lot of things in life when we are busy making money. In India many young men go abroad to earn better. They miss the happiness in watching their children grow. Their children miss their fatherly affection and care during that time.

One of my friends visited his son in the USA. He was staying there for a few months and returned to India. I asked him about the life in the USA.
He said, “The USA is a rich man’s hell and India is heaven of the poor”.

Let us work hard to earn well. However, let us not do it by sacrificing our real life for it.

You may be a micro particle in this universe,
Yet you are all the world to me without recourse

Physically you are far away from me, being there
Yet happy to know that in my heart lies your soul here

If it be a secret joy when our bodies unite
It'll be the ultimate pleasure for our souls without contrite

I know not if I will enjoy this secret joy, dear
Nevertheless, I thank you for having given me the ultimate pleasure

If you will forgive me dear, I'll admit a fact here,
I tried to plug you out of my thoughts and memories forever,

Alas, the more I wished to forget,
The more you stubbornly stayed without regret,

I thought you made impressions only in my brain,
But the impressions dear, are deeply ingrained within my soul

I do not know if it is right to say "I love You"
But dear, I boldly declare "my soul needs you"

So come let us live a life of eternal bliss
Like carefree birds over the mist.

I always want to say “I can “

by vijayanths | 6:43 AM in | comments (0)

There are two types of people in this world. The first type are people who will say ‘I can’ even when they are assigned difficult jobs. The second type will say “I cannot” even when they are given the simplest of jobs.

This story is about a shoe manufacturing company that sent a sales representative to a remote town to explore the possibilities of a new market. The sales man found that no one was wearing shoes in that town. Therefore, he returned without making any efforts to sell the products. He simply reported that he could not sell the products.
Then the company sent another sales man to the same town. He came back with much enthusiasm. He said that since no one was used to wearing any shoes he could get orders from all of them. Needless to say, that his efforts soon brought in very big sales.
Therefore, dear friends, be confident, be positive and learn to say “I can”. Success will follow you forever.

We come across much news in the media about suicide. Many young girls and boys resort to this desperate and untimely decision when their love fails. It is really a very bad situation.

In most cases, this occurs when love is one sided, the affected person commits suicide. It is so meaningless and painful. When your lover is with you till the end, you can fight the whole world even until death.

There is meaning in it. But why should you lose your precious life for some one who does not care for you. If your lover is willing to die for you, well you think you can also do the same for him/her. But mostly people put an end to their lives as they cannot withstand failure. When some one does not love you, just ignore her/him, move on and find someone who could be your soul mate.

There are millions and millions of people here in this beautiful world. Why can't you find one among them? Think of the agony and sorrow your parents will experience?

So dear friends, when your love fails just move on. The pain will be there I agree. But time will cure your pain. You were born to live and achieve. Just one boy or one girl is not the end of the world.

The best way of avenging a failed love is to get on with life and come up with flying colours. Let the other person REALISE he or she is the loser and not you. Let her/him feel, and fret for you, and that is the best way of WINNING a FAILURE in LOVE.

In all the Indian films you will find at least six songs. You can’t find an Indian film without songs. It has a long history. The art of drama (play) has been in existence in India for many thousands of years. In olden days they used to tell a story in song.

It is not surprising that when the film industry was introduced to India, they continued to tell the story in the same drama style. It is surprising to note that a few decades ago in Indian cinema, there were as much as thirty songs or more in a few of the films.

This style of telling a story gradually changed. Presently there are about six songs in a film and usually the hero and the heroine sing songs in the love scenes. The songs are usually sung by prominent songsters and the actors and actresses just give lip movements. Kissing on the lips is not allowed in Indian movies. In reality no Indian sings songs in demonstrating his love life.

Nevertheless, the Indian film songs are melodious and quite enjoyable to listen. Some songs in films are presented so beautifully that we can watch those scenes and listen to the songs any number of times (just like watching “bad’ of Michael Jackson)

You will find one such great song video under; India had produced great music directors like S.D. Burman, R.D. Burman in the past. Some of the prominent music directors who dominate the Indian cinema currently are A.R. Rehman, Ilaya Raaja and Haris Jeyaraj. I am sure you will agree with me that you will love Indian music and Indian film songs.
