A. R. Rehman the nominee for an Oscar award for his music in the film, Slum dog Millionaire is from my city Chennai, India. He has already won the Golden Globe award 2009 for best original musical score for the same film. I ‘m proud to say that I’m an ardent fan of A. R. Rehman.

This music legend A. R. Rehman lost his father when he was just 9 years old. His father was a musician too. A. R. Rehman showed extraordinary skills on the key board when he was a school-going boy. He began to work as a key board player with great Tamil film music directors such as Ilaya Raja during his teen age.

Then he started to compose music jingles for famous advertising companies in India. In the early 90’s he got an opportunity to compose music for the film “Roja” directed by India’s top film director Mani Ratnam. After that, there was no looking back for this musical genius.

A.R.Rehman is a perfectionist. He never compromises his music for anything. He bagged many Tamil Nadu state awards and national awards. He came into international limelight with his music in the film, Slum dog millionaire.

He practiced Hindu religion till he converted into Islam in 1989. He was not popular then. He is a firm believer of God.

Whenever he gets a new award he humbly says “all the glory to God”.

I’m sure A.R.Rehman would reach greater heights in international music. This music wizard has millions of fans around the world. Every Indian is proud of A. R. Rehman.

I love his music. I love him more as a person. He has silently engaged in many social service activities. He is a great key board player, good guitarist and pianist. He is one of the best film music directors India produced. He is also a very good singer.
I’ m sure with the grace of God, Rehman will win the Oscar in 2009 for his music score in Slum dog Millionaire.

Prabhu Deva is a multifaceted film personality of South India. He is a dancer, choreographer, actor and a film director. He is popularly known as the Michael Jackson of India.

His father Mr. Sundaram is a leading choreographer of South India. Encouraged by his father he took interest in dancing from his childhood. Michael Jackson was his greatest inspiration. When he was a young boy, he used to practice Michael Jackson’s steps in front of a mirror for hours on end.



He was just an average student in his school.
His entry into the Tamil film industry started when he joined his father assisting him in a few films. He came to the limelight when his first film “Gentleman” was released. He stormed the Tamil film industry with his scintillating dance performance in that film. Then there was no looking back in his career. He excelled in all the fields he worked.



His innovative dance movements (thanks to you, Michael), literally won millions of fans for him almost instantly. He proved himself as a dancer, choreographer, actor and a director. He works hard even now and retains the winning trend even to date.
Having won many prestigious awards, Prabhu Deva really has proved himself to possess many amazing talents. More than ever, he is a great human being.

In all the Indian films you will find at least six songs. You can’t find an Indian film without songs. It has a long history. The art of drama (play) has been in existence in India for many thousands of years. In olden days they used to tell a story in song.

It is not surprising that when the film industry was introduced to India, they continued to tell the story in the same drama style. It is surprising to note that a few decades ago in Indian cinema, there were as much as thirty songs or more in a few of the films.

This style of telling a story gradually changed. Presently there are about six songs in a film and usually the hero and the heroine sing songs in the love scenes. The songs are usually sung by prominent songsters and the actors and actresses just give lip movements. Kissing on the lips is not allowed in Indian movies. In reality no Indian sings songs in demonstrating his love life.

Nevertheless, the Indian film songs are melodious and quite enjoyable to listen. Some songs in films are presented so beautifully that we can watch those scenes and listen to the songs any number of times (just like watching “bad’ of Michael Jackson)
